About the trip

On July 5th, 2011, I set out for an adventure I've been dreaming about for years as I worked on obtaining my undergraduate degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  My dream has been to travel, live on the open road, and experience life in its most humble sense, living with as little as possible, and learning as much as I can from all the people I meet.  I realize someday I will have to find a job, but throughout my life I have discovered that the best experiences happen when I least expect them.  When the road less traveled is followed, amazing views are found, incredibly smart and thoughtful people are discovered, and experiences that will last a lifetime are made.  I don't know where my travels will take me, or when they will end.   My life right now, is on the road, enjoying life as best I can, and living each day to its fullest potential.

The gear I have with me is as follows.  With it, and with a little bit of food, I can be on my own for days at a time between towns I pass through.
